Ketamine Therapy
Draper Utah

Ketamine is a medication that has a well-established reputation for safe use in medical procedures as an anesthetic and pain reliever. Recently, it has been discovered to have promising results in treating depression, particularly in cases where other treatments have not been effective. Moreover, it has been explored for its potential benefits in treating alcoholism, substance dependencies, PTSD, and other psychiatric conditions, as well as for promoting personal growth and self-discovery.

While ketamine was initially approved by the FDA for use as an anesthetic, its use for psychiatric treatment falls under the category of “off-label” use. Despite this, the trend of administering ketamine in lower doses has gained popularity in recent years due to its reported positive effects. The way ketamine works is distinct from other psychiatric drugs, as it operates by blocking glutamate, a neurotransmitter linked to mood disorders, which helps to reset brain receptors and repair damaged connections.

Prior to undergoing ketamine-assisted therapy, a comprehensive medical and psychological assessment will be carried out to determine eligibility. The safety profile of ketamine is well established, and it has been used at higher doses for surgical anesthesia without causing respiratory depression.

How Does Ketamine Therapy Work?

At The Spa Wellness Center in Draper Utah, we understand the challenges that individuals facing depression, PTSD, and anxiety may encounter. That's why we offer a unique approach called ketamine therapy, designed to bring hope and relief.

The Science Behind Ketamine Therapy

Imagine your brain as a network of communication pathways. When someone experiences mental health conditions, these pathways can become disrupted. Ketamine, a medication used in controlled doses, acts like a reset button for these communication pathways.

Building Bridges In the Brain

Ketamine is thought to encourage the growth of new connections between brain cells, fostering a healthier and more adaptable mental landscape. This process, known as neuroplasticity, helps the brain reorganize itself, potentially easing the burden of symptoms.

Speeding Up Relief

What makes ketamine therapy stand out is its rapid action. While traditional treatments may take weeks to show effects, ketamine often begins to work within hours or days, offering a quicker path to relief.

Our experienced healthcare professionals guide you through this journey in a secure and supportive environment. Each session is personalized to meet your unique needs, and our team is dedicated to your well-being every step of the way.
